Dhaka : The court has issued a warrant against the BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in a case filed for contempt of the Liberation War.
Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddique filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on 3 November, 2016. The court ordered to investigate on the hearing of the case. After the investigation, Tejgaon Police Inspector (Investigation) ABM Moshiur Rahman submitted the investigation report to the court on February 25.
According to the investigation report, when forming government led by Khaleda Zia in 2001, members of Jamaat-e-Islami, Al-Badr, Alashams Committee members were made MP-ministers. When they were in power, they used the maps and national flag of independent Bangladesh in their homes and vehicles with the ministerial facilities. Khaleda Zia has insulted the true patriot people's status by placing the flag got by 30 lakh martyrs' blood in the car for those anti-liberation war.
Earlier on 9th October, Court has issued arrest warrant against Khaleda Zia in a case filed for an arson attack that killed eight people during BNP-led 20-party alliance’s anti-government agitation in 2015.
